Otherwise known as receipts,
Or pearls of wisdom,
Or HOT TIPS.

We have found the most special BBQ recipe there is: it’s called TRY IT!! If it does not work the first time, then we highly recommend that you TRY IT!! again. In other words, there is no bad recipe - only different interpretations and applications. From the simplest to the most complex recipe, it is in your hands now. You control the substance, you control the spices, you control the heat and you have to control the timing. Have no fear, be bold, be innovative, and try something different - that is why it is called a recipe. If your creation comes out wonderful, write it down. If it sucks, blame it on the recipe you started with. If you are going to experiment repeatedly, buy a dog. My dog’s name is BUZZ, and he loves me.

Receipts are the bookmarks in the recipe book. They are nothing more than a list of ingredients that you got from somewhere for some purpose. The top is tattered and the back is faded, so you don’t have a clue of what it is, or what it could be. All you can do at this point is put it all together and hope you recognize what it should be. If the dogs won’t eat it, go back to a real recipe.

A pearl of wisdom is the little tiny piece of white edible stuff in the middle of a perfectly burned up potato on the BBQ. It takes a lot of spuds, but only a couple of brain cells to perfect the perfect pearl. We recommend that you TRY IT, and if you get good at it you could end up with a pearl the size of a potato.

A hot tip is: there are no rules when you BBQ. Just hand your kids a bag of marshmallows and they will prove that to you.

HAY BA YA BA DO BA---BBQ is the first and correct pronunciation of cooking out, normally associated with brontosaurus ribs and pterodactyl wings. [Good job, Fred]
