#1 Can I
set up this unit
for use with propane or natural gas?
Yes - A lot of people have
very simply
taken a 2-burner outdoor propane unit and set it on the charcoal grill
attachment. This method can be used with a griddle or the
grill.
When not in use, this burner unit can be removed and stored in a dry
place.
Our bottomless pit was designed to stay outside, however, we have not
seen
a propane unit (stainless or cast iron) that can withstand constant
exposure
to the elements.
We are working on a new and
innovative propane
burner system that will hold up to outdoor exposure, but this unit will
not be marketed until we are sure that it is perfect. This unit will
fit
all bottomless pits with little or no work.

#2 Can I
get a taller unit?
Yes – We can custom make a
unit to any
size or height that you desire.
However - we have found the 2’ unit
to be perfect.
The extra swivel grill attachments raise your grill height to 3’ or
higher
if you desire.
Warning – we have had a lot of people
raise their
units higher with their
material, but found it difficult to
use, especially
the swivel grill.

| #3 Can I
get accessories?
The Bottomless Pit comes with our
basic accessory
kit. Included are:
1 grill with stainless
steel rods
1 charcoal grill with quick
detach arms
1 swing arm-for a potholder
1 grill clip-to hold grill in
upright position
1 solid brass buzzard logo
1 short pin-for swing arm
1 long pin- for accessories and
grill clip
Our standard (extra) accessory
is the very
versatile swing arm grill.
These grills are 17” x 17”, and have
a center
pin to swivel the swing arm 360°. The swing arm also swivels
360° on the top pins. 2 or more grills can be mounted on top
pins and are adjustable in height by the use of spacers.
These grills can be used in a variety
of ways.
You can put a griddle, or a cover lid, or a fry pan, or a cutting block
on this grill, or use as is.
With our very basic swivel and pin
system, you
can easily acquire material locally to create whatever you like.
You can create your own custom
accessories or
have them fabricated locally. Once you see how simple this system is,
you
will no doubt come up with something to customize your unit. We
would
be happy to help you in any way to custom fit your unit to suit your
needs.
Send a detailed plan to us by E-mail or by snail-mail and we will send
you an estimate for your creation.

| #4 Can I
set this unit
on a wood deck? NO!!! |
#5 Can I
put a bottom in
this unit?
Yes. But this makes it harder
to clean
and maintain the unit.

#6 Can I
put doors on the
front of the unit?
Yes. But we have yet to see a reason
for this
application. However, we are trying to find an adequate screen
system
for the front, but have not come up with anything to meet our
standards.
We are working on it.

#7 Can I
put a chimney
on, or raise the back stack?
Yes. But we have found that it
draws no
better. The stack height and the curved design allow the back of
the unit to heat up and help pull smoke to the rear of the tank.
#5 #6 #7 = bottom + doors +
chimney. You
now have a wood stove outside. We designed the bottomless pit to
be used as an outdoor fire pit-BBQ.

#8 Can I
get another color?
Yes. We recommend black,
as it is
very forgiving. High heat BBQ paint comes in many colors
(available
locally). Dark greens and ruddy reds work well. Stay away from
light
colors as they blemish easily under fire.

#9 Can I
get a powder coated
unit?
Yes, but we have not been
happy with the
results. We have found that its more expensive, does not hold up
as well under intense heat and is much harder to touch up. The
high
heat BBQ paint is more affordable and easy to touch up. If you
are
going to use your grill with charcoal only powder coating is an option.

#10 Can I
get an unpainted
unit?
Yes. We can send you a
clean or
rusted unit (at a reduced price) if you desire to finish it
yourself.
We also have hot rolled steel grills. The rusted units work very
well if they are oiled and heat cured, in other words, treated like a
cast
iron pan. The more you use it and clean it and oil it, the better it
gets.

#11 Can I
get my BBQ installed?
Yes. These units are so
easy to
install that any local building or landscaping contractor or material
yard
can find you someone to set you up. (My teenage son set one up and did
a wonderful job; it only took 3 days, at 1 hour per day according to
his
watch). We can send you an installation brochure or you can
download
one to present to your contractor for an estimate. Have your installer
call us if there are any questions.

#12 Are
dealers welcome?
You bet! Material yards,
landscape installers,
designers, building contractors, nurseries, masons, or just a wannabe
dealer
installer are all welcome.
If you have a cover material, these
units will
help sell your product. If you are an installer, or want to
become
one, these units are very attractive. Many people would rather have
someone
install the unit for them. We will assist you in any way we can
to
help you perfect your installations.
